January — Mainnet goes live

Soneium officially launched its mainnet, developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, marking the beginning of a new Ethereum layer-2 built for creators, fans, and communities. Early ecosystem momentum followed quickly:

  • SNFT Inc. launched its Fan Marketing Platform on Soneium, enabling new forms of creator–fan engagement.
  • The foundation for an entertainment-driven onchain ecosystem was set.
  • Soneium Conquest: a campaign to conquer, brought over 200,000 users into the ecosystem across 27+ dApps in just four weeks.

February — Discovery at scale

February was about turning exploration into participation.

  • Sony Music Publishing Japan launched an NFT campaign on Soneium for the girl group Sandal Telephone.
  • Network activity passed 400K wallets and 10M transactions.
  • Astar Contribution Score deployed 100M ASTR incentives on Soneium.

March — Culture meets infrastructure

Entertainment and accessibility took center stage.

April — Builders accelerate

April highlighted how fast builders were shipping.

May — Liquidity and composability

  • 21 teams building on Soneium received 282,544 OP through Optimism Retro Funding.
  • Soneium went live on Uniswap, expanding composability across the broader onchain ecosystem.

June — Community and incubation

June focused on long-term ecosystem support.

  • Soneium For All launched as a fast-track incubator for consumer and gaming applications.
  • The Soneian Community Program introduced new ways for builders, creators, and leaders to contribute and grow within the ecosystem.

July — Scale meets consumer apps

By mid-year, momentum was visible onchain:

  • 200M transactions, 10M blocks, and 8M addresses reached.
  • Consumer apps like Heavenly Guitars launched on iOS and Android, powered by Soneium.
  • Community creativity showed up in unexpected places — from games to culture-driven collectibles.

August — Onchain identity and community

  • Soneium Score Season 01 launched, reinforcing the idea that every onchain action should count.

September — Entertainment at scale

September was a breakout moment for mainstream entertainment.

October — Expanding entertainment collaborations
